ONE Prayer Brainstorm: Time Coordination Ideas
During Sunday’s discussion, We brain-stormed some ideas of how to encourage The Journey community to unite in ONE Heart and ONE Spirit in Prayer like Jesus prayed for in John 17.
Posted below are a few of the ideas - specifically about how to COORDINATE our Prayer efforts during the week. Please look at this list and “add” to each idea of how it might work…and what would work for you personally.
Hopefully some of these ideas will be supported and developed enough to get started by Journey people.
Time / Coordinated Effort
-all pray at 6pm each day
-set a few “daily” times - 7:17am and 7:17pm ?
-all get a txt message indicating focus of prayer
-FORWARD txt messages to other Journey people
-Ask each existing group / team to spend the first 10 minutes in high level prayer
Cell phone alarm
As I’ve done before: set your cell phone (or watch, or computer) with a reminder alarm to pray.

Answering Jesus' Prayer
I checked out the one prayer web site, and I’ve thought about Jesus’ prayer in John. It seems like Jesus wanted us all to pray, yes, but He also seemed to be praying for us to be unified. A common prayer, one that calls for unity, might be a great way to respond to Jesus’ prayer. The One Prayer web site invites us to be the answer to Jesus’ prayer. Maybe we could word a common prayer, say from the text of Jesus’ prayer, and say it in church together. We could also use the prayer in our other prayer activities that are recommended on this forum as well as the other forums on this topic.
Focus of Prayer Texts
All,
This is easy. Anyone that is willing, we just need two things; Phone number and Mobile Carrier. Past that it’s linking the two together and sending the community message using the following formats.
T-Mobile phonenumber@tmomail.net
Virgin Mobile phonenumber@vmobl.com
Cingular phonenumber@cingularme.com
Sprint phonenumber@messaging.sprintpcs.com
Verizon phonenumber@vtext.com
Nextel phonenumber@messaging.nextel.com
Sorry to get all tech, but I think this is a great idea that was discussed in both teaching times.
Thoughts?

24 hour vigiil
How about a sign up sheet for 24 hour prayer vigil so people can sign up to pray for 30 or even 60 minute slots for a 24 hour period. It could be a focused time of prayer for the Journey and others.
Jeff's Prayer Time
Hey Jeff,
I’d like to know how the prayer time went this morning? And where the heck is everyone else’s ideas?
